Whistles for Peace

Dr. Glenn Geelhoed has conducted medical missions to the poorest corners of the world for four decades and has committed his life to delivering health care, medicines, supplies and training to the poorest of the poor. He has chosen this as his Mission to Heal. Much of his work has been done in the Sudanese regions of Africa where violence is often the leading cause of death for the adult population. Cattle are the currency and raids increase in frequency and intensity. Feuding, scarcity, revenge and futility seem insurmountable obstacles to end the genocide. Yet a way has been found: A bridge from health to peace

Dr. Geelhood's Journal Entries

On February 14, 2011, a forty ton cargo truck filled with medical supplies arrived in a small village in Southern Sudan. Here is what Dr. Geelhoed wrote that day in his journal.

It is a miracle not to be taken for granted but the “Mission to Heal” has made it thus far. The purpose for this Mission to Heal Peace Initiative is to achieve a continuing education ongoing symposium among the representatives of EACH mission in and among the various factions of tribal loyalties, with an equitable distribution of the largesse of both the education and the equipment to facilitate it and spread it out with no one taking exclusive ownership except to serve their rivals with heath care and its delivery and health care education.
